Michael Hilliard is a film, television and transmedia producer at FINCH – Mumbrella’s production company of the year 2013. His television series credits include ICONOCLASTS (for Sundance Channel – USA), The Poker Star (Network TEN and oneHD – Australia ), Fast Cars and Superstars (ABC – USA), KOBE Mentu (CCTV5 – China), The Art of Walking (National Geographic – International), the International Emmy® Award nominated The Great Crusade for Qantas and Tourism New Zealand, and Ian Thorpe: The Swimmer, an unflinching biography of Australia’s greatest Olympian, for the ABC and Screen Australia.
Working with Emad Tahtouh, FINCH’s director, applied technology, Hilliard has pioneered technology that changes not just the production value of content, but the ways that consumers view and interact with content. Recent projects include the D&AD pencil winning Donation Glasses for Mars/Pedigree, the YouTube hit Fundawear showcasing Durex-branded underwear that allows consumers to touch over the internet, and The Attention Powered Car for Western Australia’s RAC, a project that utilizes brain monitoring software to highlight the dangers of inattentive driving, and reduce single car fatalities across WA and in the iconic wheat belt.
Hilliard’s work with a range of award-winning actors, musicians, artists and sports figures including Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Cate Blanchett, Will Arnett, Tom Ford, Jeff Koons, Kobe Bryant, the Beastie Boys, Good Charlotte, Michael Stipe, Paul Simon and P.Diddy blends pop culture with documentary and television.  His work has been recognized by the Cannes Lions, the ONE show, the Directors Guild of America, and the Emmys, and has become part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
His feature film credits include the Beastie Boys’ multi-camera, user-generated concert film Awesome, I Fuckin’ Shot That!, the slamdance-winning Better Housekeeping, which played critics’ week at Cannes, Sunsets: The PowderFinger Farewell Tour and the Lincoln-Mercury funded Lovely by Surprise, which premiered at the Seattle Film Festival. 
Michael Hilliard is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Australian Film Institute, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) and the Screen Producers Association of Australia.  He has served as a judge for the AFI’s, the International Emmy’s, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and as the president of the inaugural Branded Content and Entertainment jury at the Spikes Asia advertising festival.
