In this blurb you’ll learn that I’m a native of Wellington, New Zealand, and that my career began in Auckland in 1999. Reading on, you’ll discover that after two stints at Publicismojo and one at Generatorbates, I moved to ClemengerBBDO Melbourne, Australia in 2007. Where as a senior writer I made a significant contribution to the agency being named CampaignBrief ‘Agency of the Year’ an unprecedented 5 years in a row. Now kiwis hate to brag, so I’m cringing a little as I write that my work has been recognised at every major international award show. As well as picking up a local ‘best in show’ award at the MADC and (mixing up my capitalisation with wild abandon) being a finalist for Best in Show at the Caples. I achieved this with a variety of TV, integrated, content and digital work. I’m not embarrassed to write that I enjoy creating ads that resonate with the public, occasionally polarise ad people and ideally don’t feel like advertising at all. I’m also a fan of dad jokes. If you meet me later at the festival, let me assure you right now, that I fought hard to get your work the glory it deserved, so blame the other guys.
