Andrés Ordóñez is a proven creative leader and a force for innovation at Energy BBDO. He has over 15 years of experience in integrated marketing, helping some of the most successful brands in the world achieve creative greatness.
Andrés was recently named Chief Creative Officer at Energy BBDO where he overseas the agency’s diverse range of clients in the US and globally. Since joining Energy in 2014 he has led the platform-driving emotional engagement on Extra and global creative on Orbit and 5 Gum. For Pearle Vision, he has helped to transform the brand into a local neighborhood eye care center by innovating through every consumer touch point. Andrés’ impact is felt agency-wide through his efficiency with Total Market Solutions: creative work designed for both the general and Hispanic markets. He has also been a driver for new business initiatives. Andrés consistently ignites creativity across the agency, bringing energy to everything he does.
Andrés started his career at Ruiz Nicoli in Spain, after which he made his way to BBDO Puerto Rico. He rose through the creative ranks there from Art Director to General Creative Director, working on large, multi-national clients, including Mars/Wrigley, Bayer and PepsiCo. Subsequently, he came to the States in creative leadership roles for two multi-cultural agencies, Zubi (Miami) and The Bravo Group (Chicago), where he was Creative VP & Managing Director. His work and awards span a diverse range of categories and brands, ranging from automotive (Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Mitsubishi), banking (Chase, BMO Harris), CPG (Tampico, Campbell’s, Hormel, Smucker’s), Retail (Winn Dixie, Olive Garden, Pizza Hut, Famous Footwear), Travel (American Airlines, Berlitz, Hotels.com).
Originally from Colombia, Andrés brings a unique global perspective to the US and Chicago markets. When he’s not busy being CCO or Papa to his girls Mia and Sol, this triathlete can usually be found traversing miles and miles along the lakeshore path by foot, paddle or bike.
