about the jury

Fernando Lui started his career back in 2001, as a Junior Colorist at Casablanca Finish, one of the biggest post-production companies of Latin America, at that time. Fernando’s work quickly gained prominence in the advertising market and in 2004, two campaigns he color-graded gained awards in the Cannes Lions Festival.

In 20015 he joined Cinecolor, a Chilean entertainment-driven multinational, with many feature films released. After 5 years as a Colorist there, he became the Head of Color Grading and DI departments, working hands-on with many awarded projects, such as the movie The Way He Looks, the Official Brazilian Foreign Language Entry at the 87th Academy Awards and winner of other festivals, such as a Teddy Award at Berlin Film Festival.

In 2013 he joined Clan, a visual effects company in São Paulo, where he built and led their Color Grading department until 2016, when he founded Marla.

Since then, Fernando has opened a new Marla unit in Barcelona where he currently lives, continuing to develop his distinctive visual style and sensibility, collaborating with the main directors and producers in Brazil and abroad, building a vast portfolio with major global brands such as NikeBudweiserFordVW, Corona, Under Armour, Coca-ColaSamsung, among many others, coloring some of the most iconic commercials awarded at different festivals.
