Oliver Lee Garland is an international director recognized for his versatility, capable of dominating genres like comedy, suspense and more emotional pieces. Starting as an actor, he is known for his character building and his ability to direct both actors and non actors.
Oliver creates memorable narratives that deeply connect with the audience. His talent has taken him to work in key markets of the Ibero-America region, such as Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and, naturally, Uruguay.
His work has been acclaimed in prestigious festivals around the world and he has won accolades from the likes of El Ojo de Iberoamérica, Shots Awards, CICLOPE, Campanas de Oro, Desachate and Effie. He is one of the most acclaimed directors of the last decade in Uruguay, where he was recognized as the Best Local Director in 2015, 2020 and 2021, and he is in the Top 20 of the Best Ibero-American Directors.
In 2018 he released From Core to Sun, a sports documentary that turned into the most viewed Ecuadorian film of the year in theaters.
In his free time, he likes to sky dive and he has carried this passion into his work, shooting a number of commercials up in the air.
