about the jury
Born in São Paulo from Belgian parents, Pierre de Kerchove lived his childhood between France and Brazil.
While graduating from film school at ECA-USP in São Paulo, he started shooting music videos and documentaries in the mini-DV / end of film era, this took him gradually to shoot commercials and indie feature films.
Today his resume spreads all over audiovisual categories, from Berlinale awarded films such as The Way He Looks and Joaquim, to acclaimed commercials such as WhatsApp’s Carnaval, which was awarded Gold in Cinematography at CICLOPE Latino.
Pierre transits easily in a vast category of commercials, from realistic dramas to elegantly lite comedies and also high-performance car commercials.
This has made him win many awards in cinematography in the past years such as Gold for VW’s Ali at El Ojo 2018, Merit in Cinematography at the ADC Awards 2019 for CCSP’s Welcome to the Unknown, Bronze winner at the Clio Awards 2018 and shortlisted in Cinematography at the Cannes Lions 2018 for Médecins du Monde’s Shut Up Death. He was also shortlisted at the D&AD 2019 for Pinacoteca’s Radical Women, among others.
Pierre is represented by WPA Talent Agency in the USA and UK, Api-corp for Europe and Asia and Aura Collective for LATAM.
